The Wonderful Web - Netflix
Every month this year I will be featuring a certain online tool/website that I use. If you already use that tool, great! If you hate it, more power to you. If you’re not familiar with it, this post is for you.

And today’s focus is on Netflix’s online streaming service. If you’re not familiar with Netflix, they were made famous by providing a low-cost, efficiently run DVD-by-mail rental system for years. They have slowly been changing the business to cater more to the online video streaming community. Major PR blunders last year really brought this major institutional change into the limelight.

But before you go hating on Netflix, let me just say that they have an excellent video streaming product. If you are interested in watching old TV show episodes (such as old episodes of the Office, Stargate SG-1, Top Gear, 24, etc.), Netflix has the best deal possible. For $8 per month, you get unlimited streaming access to their library. They also have an excellent documentary collection on their streaming service. They do not have, however, many newer good movies, and they have essentially no TV episodes from current seasons. But since we don’t have cable, we can have access to plenty of content for $8 per month, and supplement current seasons of shows with Hulu (more on that at a later time).
