One of my favorite websites is Curbly. It is a self-proclaimed DIY design website. They post cool stuff people make for their houses, apartments, whatever. I love the simple, yet sometimes elegant designs that they share.
And yes, it may be a bit of a girly website, but I enjoy it anyway and follow each post via RSS.
